She is her own character, "Oden" is this case is a symbol of freedom, it carries the same effect as Luffy wanting to be pirate king.

Just like Oden she restricted to Wano, to goal is to break free from her chains and explore the world just like Oden did.

I don't hate Yamato but at the same time I so far don't really care for her character, she looks like another Nami clone, her personality doesn't feel unique, and her trying to be like Oden and even calling Momo her son is just plain creepy at this point.

I'm not the biggest King fan but even he is far more interesting than Yamato, also I wish Oda could show us Black Maria again I want to see more from her than Yamato.
