He changed somewhere between GV and the Oden fight where he only wanted to die. and I also think it's related to Zoro. Shimotsuki is just a red herring and Zoro is related to Kaido bu was taken away from him wich made Kaido flip. He probably wanted a son instead of Yamato because he thought Joy boy must be a man. Wich connect to Zoro story with Kuina being a similar case to Yamato. This is how Oda did with Sanji story, he came back to the original flashback and fleshed it out. I am dying on the hill that this is the true twist when Kaido comes back

Hard to tell I thinking about the "Roger&Garp" match up against the "rocks" pirates since the last weekend.

We know that Sengoku talked to Garp about the event. The official WG version says Garp did it alone. But through the Sengoku version, we see Garp and Roger fighting against Xebec, Kaido, Whitebeard, and Linlin. The question for me after all these chapters is, why would Garp and Roger team up, especially against Xebec, who only wanted to save his family? Was Xebec transformed into a demon by Imu? If so, why would Whitebeard, Kaido, and Linlin support him? I'm really curious. I hope Xebec wasn't transformed into a demon, but that there was something else.

Only issue I have with that is the fact that if Imu domi reversed him he would be under Imu's command and there would be no reason for Garp to fight him as he would be fighting the WG at that point, and if he can domi reverse Xebec he can domi reverse anyone at GV unless it happened after Xebec was weakened a lot or some sh*** but besides the domi reverse scenario I don't see why would Garp and Roger would team up against him since it also looks like Garp is learning about what's really happening at GV.....idk we'll have to see how it plays out I guess

Shiki isn’t in this chapter, unfortunately we only get to see Xebec, his YC1 (Whitebeard), and his YC5 (Crydo)
