Shiki is a bronze medalist bum who’s only marginally better than Kyou. There’s a reason why Oda was fine with having him get packed up in a movie by pre-TS Luffy. Oda would never disrespect WB, Kaido, or even BM like that

but even during this Shiki is above Kyo and more relevant :
- was among the first recruits
- Shiki was the one bombing Kyo when they raided the island/cult and was uninjured compared to Kyo
- Shiki was the one with Kaido/WB/BM who defeated in an EPIiIiIIiC panel the folders who tried to betray Rocks
- Shiki this chap was seen protecting Ray/Shakky while Kyo was slapped by Warco daddy
- overall a bigger presence during the whole flashback

Kyo has even less fame and legend compared to John and Wang who had a much better pirate career : biggest treasure ever for John and Buggy goal, Leader of Hachinosu for 40y and part of the Rocky port incident (maybe father of Caribou too)

Kyo has been a massive bum all along compared to his name drop and intro

The only time Kyo was ever hyped up was when he got his own special intro and was revealed to be Shiki's rival.

Other than that, he has been pretty much underwhelming throughout this flashback, and this latest chapter doesn't help him either.

Maybe he will have some hype after God Valley, but I don't think Oda will really care to focus on it.
