It's def a df, the magic circles serve as portals, Imu can manipulate as he wish anything within it. Probably how they have immortality and can always regen, their original "image" or soul is stored in the abyss, time stopped for them, hence he could just yeet Saturn out like that, because he should have been dead from a long ass fucking time ago
