I thought this too but than al the summoning stuff doesnt make sense.
The closest theory i heard that makes sense to this was that he stores all these objects, and the dark power, whatever that is, in the abyss and teleports it out but why does he need magic books and circles than to teleport it out in the first place?
Obviously i can be wrong but this is if law needs to to perform a backflip every time he needs to activate a room

The abyss is the realm of demons in many mythology so I imagine the summoning is him just using the abyss as a wormhole kinda place where he can enter through one sigil and out another
