No one ever genuinely debated Xebec > Imu even before this backstory.

But the underlying takeaway Oda wanted us readers get from he backstory was Xebec being that wall which lies in the center between Imu and everyone else.

Which is apparent in this chapter where Oda still couldn't bring himself to have Imu 1v1 beat down Xebec despite them fighting for the entire chapter and instead resorted to the Majin route.
Yeah Saturnmu could obviously defeat Xebec but went the DR route because:

1- It saves face for Xebec.
2- It makes sense from Imus POV to want to torture him that way and have him kill his own family.

The damn WB before Marineford needed vital medical support to stay alive...

But let the assmiraL copers believe in their own world of happiness and denial
:risitasad:
Yes, @Sentinel doesn’t understand that if we follow the SBS blindly, and according to him, Oda set the old legends’ levels as equal to their prime states, then:
  • Prime WB = 100
  • Old WB = 100

However, Whitebeard’s illness caused a decline in his strength, which means the SBS is wrong — after all, the illness directly contradicts the idea that Oda defined Whitebeard’s strength as equal to his prime.

Both Whitebeard’s illness and the fact that Rayleigh hadn’t touched a sword in decades are contradictions to the notion that Oda set their power as unchanging variables — because clearly, it changed.

Problem with this is how nonchalant Imu was the whole time. He was killing marines and pirates alike all around xebec then as soon as he wanted to end the fight, he grabbed xebec and converted him. It’s hard to see xebec as a wall for Imu and looked more like he was a toy.
Oda left no room to doubt imu >>>> Xebec bro calm down
Doesn't really go against what I said?

Imu is explicitly made unreachable, yet Oda went with the route that makes Xebec's fall do the least damage to his portrayal.

I have this theory that the stronger your servant the more of Imu can manifest, I bet you he could fully manifest or close to it if he possesses his strongest Gorosei or something.

I have quite literally stated multiple times that my general disdain comes from how obsessed this community is with haki.

are you retarded? How many times must one repeat themselves?
Random ad hominem for no reason. Chill out.
Anyway, how are you blaming the community for something that Oda's been hammering into our brains for years on end?
Most of the strongest people in the verse are characters who either only use Haki to fight or they primarily use it to fight. This is something that's even been noted by Kaido who abuses the shit out of his Devil Fruit.
It's also how Luffy defeated Kaido, Zoro defeated King, Zoro defeated Pica, Luffy stalemated Katakuri, Law defeated Vergo, Zoro defeated Pica, Luffy defeated Doflamingo, need I go on?
It's not about the fandom dickriding Haki when we have things like Shanks one shotting Kidd with noting but Haki and swordsmanship, Shanks making Aramaki twerk with raw Haki, and Joyboy instantly stopping all the Gorosei with rope Haki.
If you hate Haki, that's okay. I do too. But you can't deny it's been highlighted a lot more than DF powers lately

I insulted you because this is the like the 10th time you asked me this question. Idk if you’re slow on social standards but that gets annoying.

the strongest characters also all have strong DFs. The admirals are all quite literally DF merchants. Imu has a Df, Xebec was chasing a DF, Luffy became the most dangerous foe not after awakening adCoC but instead when he awakened the nika form

how may times must oda hammer that DFs are as important?

@ZenZu Trash like Big Mom being in that panel but not Rayleigh is pretty sad tho.
As much as Oda hyped Rayleigh pre time skip or even recently, Prime Rayleigh is just not reflective of that.

For Prime Rayleigh to justify the hype of Old Rayleigh, he should have been portrayed same way as Xebec. But he seems ordinary.

People say this chapter ruins BB final villain stocks, but I actually disagree.

The fact that there was a “promise” between Davy Jones and Imu, means it’s very likely Teach will fulfill that “promise.”
