well, I think it's more entertaining way for him to deal with things like this, instead just killing everyone by own power

It's funny how Akainu was introduced as the Admiral with the most emotional range, from the most reserved, to snarky etc. definitely the most calculating of the bunch.

He's turning into a caricature of himself just like every One Piece character eventually does. Panels are limited so Oda always wants to highlight that one standout aspect of the character but this results in characters becoming one tone. The Kizaru scene was a good change of pace for Akainu.
