Difference being, BB had just gotten his new fruit at Marineford and was fairly inexperienced with it. Current Blackbeard has two years worth of experience under his belt and new feats and everything else.
There's no reason for there to be a huge difference between God Valley Whitebeard and Primebeard. He looked exactly the same as he does in his prime and he already had his fruit for years at that point, plus he was seen clashing with Roger.

Post-Wano bounties don’t mean much. You must be eating crayons if you actually think Dory or Brogy are stronger than someone like Marco or Boa. They’ve been alive for far longer to boot, so that‘s taken into the equation. They’ve wrecked a bunch of shit in the past.

Dude Blackbeard was a fucking orphan when WB took him in. He couldn't even wipe his ass. Saying he was a fake subordinate or whatever is nonsense.

All the Rocks Pirates were destined to go their own way. That's the whole point and why Oden and BB were never staying there for long.
