He wanted to show these guys are strong they can fight for ten days straight without interruption, but the issue is that in the actual story there's no way Oda can draw a fight that lasts more than few hours lol

Bumrosei had shooters ready to take out Vegapunk but when Chadbec directly challenged them they hid for years and relied on real dawgs like Harald to fight him instead
Not as bad as Laturn being reduced to a punching bag for a 12 year old girl though
