That’s just the nature of Oda’s flashbacks. Like I said before, as long as we check off all the boxes (how shanks ended up with the Roger pirates, how Rocks fought Roger and Garp etc) there isn’t much of an imperative to keep this segment of the flashback going aside from cool fights

Almost all flashbacks before wano is good and detailed enough.

And it's not just a cool fight. It's the end of Xebec. oda could have made it so much better by giving us an actual fight and emotional beats

Oda will spend time fleshing out the narrative details of a flashback (he did that in this flashback) but when have we ever had a fleshed out fight in a flashback in One Piece?
