this was brought up a long time ago but I guess because since Oda never showed this scenario of someone have high enough haki to not take damage, people forgot about this

somehow No one has ever used Haki in this way, Kaido never once uses his haki to completely take zero damage from even the scabbards despite having vastly superior haki to them

Yeah but before it was armor defending someone or increasing their attack. This is basically "lol no" to attacks from Yonko tier characters.
