Both shit on Elden Ring. The sheer extent of the enemy and particularly boss reuse is absolutely maddening to me, although that's a personal thing, I admit.
I remember the late 2021 network test and the absurd variety of unique encounters they put into that chunk of Limgrave. This got my hopes up waaaay too high. To be fair, I didn't expect From to balloon the openworld to such an extent. They didn't need to bloat the game with a few dozen samey minor dungeons. Cut like 33% of them at the very least. And, for the love of god, don't reuse key story bosses.
The point at which I resigned myself to the fact I simply wasn't enjoying ER much was when I stumbled upon that gaol with a Godrick copypaste.
