There's no recovery from that. Ratling will forever be remembered as the top tier fraud who brought a whole ass immortal army against Xebec, his wife and his toddler son and still got his ass whooped. You may as well say Kuzan is not a pirate. Cause he joined up for the same reason and abandoned the WG because he found no justice there.

The whole point of Marineford was that both Marines and Pirates are fighting for their own Justice
