Just what we needed. I saw it coming once Tot Musica appeared in Red especially and not even Shanks and the combined might of Gear 5, all the RHP, Katakuri I think and others could not harm it. Not to mention the whole occult nonsense the Gorosei and Holy Knights have been doing and are ofc.

I remember when Oda said there would be no "actual magic" in One Piece especially in response to the weird shit Hawkins was doing. How ironic.

Its 100% Oda's compensation to avoid giving us evil Shanks for sure. A way to make Shanks antagonistic. But he's still willing to make Shanks a holy knight which is the most hilarious fucking contradiction and thus hypocrisy on his part.

The only thing I can think of is that he was curious and wanted to see the WG from the inside out, see how it operates internally and plan to counter them and take them down that way as well as learn about his Figarat heritage and origins ofc.

But still, this is the narrative equivalent of refusing to fight someone then shooting them with a gun or dropping an anvil on their heads like a cartoon moment or something. Idk im terrible at analogies/metaphors lmao.
