As I said, Fuji is the wholesome chungus Admiral
Ngl, Fuji was pretty well written in Dressrosa, but Oda completely ruined his character in the Reverie.

Fuji should’ve been like Suzaku from Code Geass, a genuinely good guy who works for an evil organization because he believes that changing the system from within is better than rebelling and causing chaos and destruction. But then Oda had to go and make him a straight up Revolutionary by having him free slaves right in front of another Admiral and a bunch of CDs in the heart of the Holy Land.

Back in Dressrosa, Fuji had to find convenient excuses to feign incompetence in order to get out of following orders he didn’t approve of. Such as how he used fighting RA 2nd in command, Sabo, as a convenient excuse for not being able to help Doffy, or how he used the citizens surrounding him as a convenient excuse for why he couldn’t attack Luffy. Oda SHOULD have done something like have it be only the Revs who freed the slaves, but Fuji pretending not to notice and letting the slaves run past him, with Aramaki then calling Fuji out on his bullshit and start fighting him.

Tbh, Logiko had a point, it´s possible all he did to help the RA´s to free the slaves was summon the meteor, which pissed Aramaki off, and they had a minor fight after that, which would make more sense story wise. It would have just been better to not offscreen that if it was the case. I assumed he was literally doing open treason, but I´m not sure anymore

True, he's basically just a Revolutionary with a Marine outfit on now
Wouldn't be surprised if he switches sides and helps them out eventually

Doesn’t the text state that Fuji freed the slaves?

Sometimes I think that Oda actually thinks his audience is full of genuine retards and he feels the need to remove all nuance and subtlety from his character writing to make things obvious to them. It wouldn’t surprise me if he intentionally dumbed down Fuji’s character because he was worried that some autistic 12 year olds would whine and cry about Fuji helping the bad guys in the Reverie

I don't think Oda realizes most kids don't give af about One Piece. He started this shit in 1997 lol.
