Or Fattora, who went from being a good guy trying to change the system from within, to being a straight up goody two shoes Revolutionary?

I don't think there's anything wrong with someone like Kizaru having people he cares about... him and Akainu are strongly based on yakuza and while they can be ruthless, they also have people they care about.
The issue with this plot is fucking Vegapunk.... they had barely any development or interaction because Lolda cared about more making stuff like Kizaru feeding Luffy being a mystery.
Imo Vegapunk role should have been swapped for Sentoumaru somehow.

Only Papazuki really had character assassination here, Kizaru didn´t change that much, and fattora has been annoying since Dressrosa

Kizaru’s and Sentomaru’s brief fight on Egghead was actually really well written, you could tell just by looking at their faces the type of bond they had. That makes it even weirder just how poorly written Vegatard’s and Kizaru’s “best friendship” was. Would it really have been so hard to cut like half a chapter from Kuma’s overly long flashback and give us something to work with for Vegatard and Kizaru, beyond the few sparse panels we got?
