Do you remember the "Bonney Distorts Usopp into a Giant" theory? This lets Oda keep Usopp as the weakest member of the crew, but allows him to gain great power from Bonney distorting his future, and from being able to use Ragnir while as a Giant. I really think Loki/Ragnir is a stealth upgrade for Usopp, along with Bonney.

Honestly, I'm already making "Loki leaves Rangir to join Teach" theories, with Usopp befriending Ragnir in the meantime, since I think Loki will join a Teach/Cross Guild Alliance, before joining the Straw Hats.
