This is just fanfiction at this point, lol
LOL. Just wait, you'll see.

Thank sliced bread the Loki/Rocks flashback proved the idea that Kaido went to Marineford to kill Newgate is the craziest crack fiction this fanbase has conspired to create.

Marines couldn't handle dying Newgate without underhanded tactics, if Kaido shows up right when Teach does, I don't know how to describe how fucked the Marines would have been.

IMO Shanks is like Sengoku: he hates the WG, but realizes that without the Marines, the common folk are just totally screwed. So, Shanks begrudgingly agreed to stop Kaido from destroying Marineford.

Keep in mind Teach was ready to keep fighting, he only stopped once Shanks showed up. Shanks saved the Marine's ass, and Sengoku was obviously not happy about it.

The fan base didn't make it up though, it's literally the only statement in the manga we have about the event implies that Kaido wanted to kill Whitebeard. The fact that they were both on the Rocks Crew could have been used to make a twist in Wano, but Oda never really addressed the event, because he either forgot about it, or didn't see a point in doing so. Kaido has been out of the story for years now, adding an additional twist with him is unrealistic.

They probably would have managed, since we know Kaido wants to build up an entire army to really face them

Depends, Shanks saved the lives of injured common Marines, but all the top Marines were pretty much unharmed, except Sengoku getting some bandages.

Also the silver lining is that Luffy wouldn't care anyway, since he doesn't know of Shanks having a relationship with Ace, and wouldn't assume that Shanks had an obligation to save Ace anyway.

Kaido aiding the WG by trying to kill WB as the man was about to go to war with the marines is completely out of character for him. Whereas WB was a former Nakama and a rival of Kaido’s, the WG literally tried to have Kaido enslaved when he was a kid. Not to mention Imu turning Rocks into a demon.

We saw Kaido ally with BM against the WG. Why wouldn’t he have done the same with Whitebeard? Kaido’s dream was a war with the WG.

It honestly makes more sense that Shanks is still somewhat in the pocket of the WG. He stopped Loki, he stopped Kaido, and he was shown snitching to the gorosei in reverie. That couldn’t have been Shamrock as Shamrock is a holy knight and the Gorosei’s comment about him not having a place in politics would make zero sense.

Shanks is probably trying to use his relationship with the government to his own ends. Most likely to help Luffy/stop Teach.

Vergo should’ve honestly been introduced as a CP0 agent rather than a mere Vice Admiral. He knows Rokushiki about as well as a CP0 member, he has a personality befitting of a CP agent, and it would’ve made even more sense for Doffy to sneak one of his men into CP0
Then he'd just be Guernica but weaker. Plus Marines having Rokushiki has been a thing since Marineford iirc, even people like Koby seem to be pretty good at certain forms of it.
