First time i read something like that
It starts slow but gets much better later on.
First of all it has perfect pacing and how does it have a slow start?Episode 1 is almost full action. The only critic point you can give it is how Hohenheim died in Brotherhood. In the Manga he had a conversation with Trisha before he passed away. This was,for whatever reason cutted in the Anime.

Outside of that,its a 11/10 show

Unless you talk about the OG FMA Anime which turned into legit dogshit after the second half.I almost didnt start Brotherhood because of that trash tier Anime

Ya'll have no clue. Boring oldheads.

2020s is by far, by a massive margain, the best era anime ever had. Simply because the old series are still getting tolerated in this era, old pieces get remasters, etc and better popular stories appear.

Plus technology is peaking now. Look at Demon Slayer or the chinese donghua industry that's now competing with the japanese industry like never before.

Ya'll watched 20 anime back in the day and that's what drives your boring copy paste oldhead opinions lol. Tsk

I'm not the type of person to shit on someone's opinions on matters like this, but, no way you think Demon Slayer is even close to things like Samurai Champloo or Death Note outside of it's animation..

Anime's main argumentation point is animation.

Else the question would apply on the manga eras the same.

Old mangas from the 80s and 90s are still being purchased like always, because it's the still same black drawings on white paper in book format. It will always stand the test of time because they are good stories.

But you are lying to yourself if you say this applies to anime too.

I have over 500 or 600 anime on my list, most new ones and I started watching an old anime masterpiece Monster. I am 60 episodes in and it is indeed an absolute top shit masterpiece.

But it is how it is, IT IS ONE OF IT'S KIND. And alltogether you have maybe 1-2 handful of anime series from that era that transcended to the mainstream of the current eras.

The old eras just weren't that strong as everyone makes it here to be. Because everyone knows people on WG are narrowminded nostalgia-tunnelers. When you just try to move outside of this bubble, you will see garden eden of anime in today's times.

But let me give you a fair warning. Not everything is shounen or seinen ungabunga.

I think you don't realize just how rare a top tier anime/manga can be lol
Especially nowadays, there's only a few I can name that are really the cream of the crop

Nah, I am realizing it. And I am looking at everything rationally, without a shounen or nostalgia bias. That's why after being so late to the party I can still enjoy and acknowledge an anime like Monster, even if it looks janky and the animation is outdated as fuck.

I have the argument here clearly + the open arms to the new wave.

It's not really a demographic/genre thing, this goes for shonen, seinen, josei, shoujo etc.
It's not too common to find exceptionally good animes/mangas even nowadays when anime is far more popular than ever before. Whether that be because some of them just aren't that original or try too hard or whatever else, it's the truth either way

In the end it's a taste thing and new people prefer new anime and oldheads prefer old anime. It is that simple. It's just that there are more new people now and their opinions are spreading more than the unheard and irrelevant opinions of oldheads, because oldheads are typically known to back down from new fan talks.

Also demographics matter aslong as the discussion is being held on this forum. Because people here are shounenpilled. It is simply the truth, unless you can disprove it. And yeah, shounenpilled means also to like seinen, but only aslong it fits the genre or is "cool" in interpretation of the shounenpilling.

Man I’m 26. I’ve read so many manga and anime. I will simply say this.
Nothing will compare to watching Naruto in the 2000s. It was just too good. Like watching peak in 6th grade probably made me numb to other anime. Ngl.

that and OG Ben 10 I was obsessed with. Especially after seeing Kevin’s mutation on the bridge.

Ehh, I'm a newer anime fan and I still think older anime is, on average, a bit better than the stuff we have now
It really is just about preference tbh, and I don't seem to value big and flashy animation as much as other people of my generation do, either. Just like how I'd rather read MP100 over a manga with Berserk level art if the manga with Berserk level art had horrible writing. That's how I feel about anime, too.

You're a hermit. You're driven by nostalgia, and that's fair if this is doing good for you.

I prefer writing and especially story over anything else. That's why I vibe less with shows like Dragonball or JJK, but more with shows like Frieren or Gachiakuta. Because story >.

While I still have super enjoyment in Dragonball and I acknowledge the legacy of the franchise, it's mostly nostalgia (emotional value) for me. Was it the best era for me for example? No, looking back at it it feels exhausting doing the same weekly grind for over 100 of weeks until comming to a conclusion.

Modern seasonal animes don't have that problem tbh and you can binge freely whatever you want nowadays if you are patient with new releases. A downside the past eras have.

And back to the argument that I love story more than anything else. Story is the main driving factor for me, that's why I am able to massively enjoy Monster right now, because it's all it needs.

Now idk in what bubbles most people are journeying...but if you look closelier around, you will still find good stories en masse?
If one can't see it, just ask for recommendations and if one doesn't like those stories then it is more a problem of their own, than a problem for anime imho.

Ok but you can at least admit that bar none Naruto has the best opening themes in all of anime history.

I am a bit plugging myself here, I just think of myself that I have such a good and balanced taste + the hawkeyes to see what's going with the anime community right now, as a twitter/reddit/threads adjacent.

Fair enough
I like a good story over anything else too, but it's just hard to find good stuff sometimes
The problem with anime getting so popular nowadays is that a lot of people don't have to try too hard to appease certain audiences, or the people who do try hard don't get enough of a following
It's a very frustrating industry sometimes but it happens in every industry. Same with music and television

Lmao it is up there. I agree that the best ops collectively are with the old big shounen anime. Alot of songs nowadays sound more repetetive, but at the same time that is the fate of music nowadays. There are just so many tunes that can be played, and humanity exhausted most of them lol
