He is a bum, but not for the ass-tier power-scaling, but for the ass-tier timelining of the story. Loki should've never been allowed out of Elbaf. If you have Shanks chain him the same day of Harald's death, maybe because Loki is so volatile over losing his father that he can't be reasoned with, then we wouldn't have as many plotholes.

Loki is confirmed to the first in current era to kill a Holy knight. Prime Roger pirates failed to do despite fighting HKs multiple times.

Shanks is Roger 2.0. He has same sword skills as Roger and same attacks. Old WB matched shanks' haki.

Everyone complaining about the 8 year gap:
1. Giants don’t see time in the same way we do. We’re told directly by Oimo and Kashii that to their race, 100 years isn’t even a long time. To them 8 years is nothing at all.
2. Loki and the royal guards aren’t seafarers. The new world is impossible to navigate regularly to make it to MJ you have to sail aimlessly since you can’t use maps or compasses.
It’s not shocking at all Loki got lost for 8 years since he has no navigation skills nor did anyone he bring with him.

I doubt loki was able to do anything that big the 8 years he was on the sea.
It took rocks 15 years with strongest crew in OP history and he could not get near to taking down the WG,
