You may choose to study with another partner at night, you may increase one of their stats as well as yours instead of just studying alone, however this can be a negative if you choose a player who isnt of the same alignment as yours.

York said it's probably just a visit thing, so you wouldn't the approval of the player you visit, that means if she didn't get any negative effects, chances are high she got this just from visiting Crowned Witch.

there is probably a major disconnect / misunderstanding between shuijin and alexis, who r likely both town. town points for whoever helps them get over it!

I guess this works this way :

York submits to get a sword.
York also submits to study Reason with Crowned Witch.
Crowned Witch is a villager(in this scenario, I'm not giving a town read here)
York doesn't face any negative effect because Crowned Witch is a villager.
York gets the Reason rank up! Tadadada!
Crowned Witch mysteriously gets the Reason without knowing where it comes from.

That's also the reason I think scum might redirect players who study to a scum player so they would face negative effects. And that's why anybody shouldn't announce they will study with anyone the next night.

i dont think the game can be solved simply by checking who harms us when we visit them
