From what I saw what struck me as town from was Polar straight up asking everyone else who studied with who bc as you said scum would probably have incentive to lie if they tried studying with a partner/i.e someone they normally wouldn’t want to choose to do that with. It just seems a bit counterintuitive to bring attention to that yourself in case someone could get caught in a lie somehow/stories don’t add up. Assuming I’m even understanding the mech correctly
