Shanks literally became a Yonko after defeating "God" Loki.

Kaido being a "God" aside (LOL), you are merely quoting two characters for which being a Yonkou is merely a stepping stone to a far greater goal which dwarfs being a Yonkou.

And Shanks likely never defeated full-power Loki.

And I love Woki, but Luffy is the MC and unfortunately he's going to win

Although, Woki is 1) weakened after years of imprisonment and 2) badly injured so even after Luffy wins, there's still room for us to believe that prime Loki >>>>> anytime Luffy

Exactly: because most Yonkou are failed "PK", let alone failed Gods or failed Kings of the worlds.

Not to mention most yonkous are nobodies and not legendary successors of Nika or Davy Jones.
