1. I provide “town meta” information on him and help him avoid what would be an easy mislynch for us\which I was technically doing by the end of the game by soft town reading him. Counter productive.

or
2. I use false meta to try and say he’s scum when I know he’s town and then I look bad off misyeeting him and providing false information. Even more counter productive and risky.

So no there is no argument here
