like remember last game when Hayumi was bussing Melkor, she was like "yep this is 100% scum", even people asked around "how can you be so sure"

from my experience this is a scumtell, overconfidence in scumreads

town at least shows some doubt, look at Luka's reaction when he started the wagon, he was like "why is that wagon so quick, maybe I'm wrong"

I'm not sure what "the wash" is, but let's assume for a moment that you are right. If Flowers is scum, then are all the people she's called lock-town her scummates, real towns, or a mixture? (Answer with meta or the balance of probability, whichever you feel is most accurate)

Maybe you can clarify with the host what your "confusion" actually does?

Perhaps it in some way contributed to losing the RPS? Either way, I think it's generally important to understand an ability before using it. You wouldn't want to accidentally boost scum or hinder town.

As scum, she is more likely to slow down/stop posting if she gets into a confrontation.
As town, she is more likely to get into a screaming match.

That and she will not check in as scum if someone she would need to defend gets run up and she has an excuse to be busy. :D
