Oda literally tweeted about how he was angry that Zolo beat Luffy on day 1 of the 2026 popularity poll lol. He said that “no mangaka likes to see other characters beating their protagonist”, and said that he would have to show everyone why Luffy is better lol.

Especially a series like OP which has helped people cope with and overcome depression and shit like that…man Oda truly is the luckiest motherfucker in the history of planet earth, how on earth he sold one single manga volume with a mentality like this is proof that this is all just one big cosmic accident lmfao.
