Shanks can´t do anything to Imu, he stole the Nika fruit for a reason. He goes to Rayleigh and Gaban to tell them about Luffy, not himself or the Haki he´s gained, for a reason

@Monster Zoro's Tesla Supplier @Fujishiro I don’t get why literally no one acknowledges that Luffy was nerfed in Egghead by having to protect Vegapunk. You ever do an escort quest in an RPG where you have to protect a slow-moving and low HP NPC who keeps on pulling aggro from enemies?

People ignore that he somehow couldn't restart G5 against Kizaru when he did so just fine in Wano and other parts of Egghead (and will likely do the same against Imu now), so it's no surprise they act a little ignorant when it comes to Luffy being nerfed in Egghead. They don't know what plot restrictions are

That was only one translation, others were saying he sent them forth or nurtured them, the opposite of negating their devil forms.

These are different things. What has been established:
Theoretically anyone with advanced haki can harm Imu´s contract wielders
these same people are not established to be able to do the same thing to the man himself, we were pretty much explicitly told by Xebec that the only way to do so, is to have two specific devil fruits.

thats not true, they only slow them down they cant take them down. Imu gets affected greatly by ones death meaning a deep connection. I fail to see how its different. these are all just Imus abilitys, so when you can cancel them why would you not be able to hurt him? like beside Joy Boy no one even showed to be able to cancel they basic abilitys

Wonder what their excuse will be when Luffy doesn’t do a forced 2nd round of G5 after going raisin mode in the last chapter. They’ll probably claim that Luffy’s one attack against Sommers and his Dawn Gatling against Imunko was somehow more exhausting than taking multiple hits from Kaido and literally dying before awakening G5

Yeah, this is really as simple as putting 2 and 2 together. The Roger pirates flashback in Wano was to show us that they couldn´t fight Imu because shirahoshi wasn´t born yet, and the Rocks flashback was to show us that you need the specific devil fruits in question to fight Imu, or you can´t do anything, done from the perspective of a character who basically knew everything about the verse, and somehow missed/ or never mentioned haki.

I´m not pretending that Imu´s powers make any sense or are they known, but the obvious implication is that Haki doesn´t work on him like it does on the Gods Knights.
