Whenever a chapter is about to drop we gotta spend the first 1-2 days listening to Naruto refugees claim Oda’s stealing from Kishimoto

Apparently Kishimoto came up with the concept of two characters from the past being friends

:josad:
They´re going to motivate Oda to wipe his friend Kishi out of the history books, so people stop pointing out the similarities

It´s like poetry, it´ll all rhyme

Own these Narutards, goat
I'm the biggest Narutard here. :kobeha: I'm just not delusional about its quality relative to One Piece.

Do you actually like Imu as a villain though? Tbh, nothing about him strikes me as better written than kaguya, except that it was made clear he existed before the final saga.
I've never believed Imu is the final villain, but I appreciate the similarities to Kaguya. I didn't like the reveal at first, but that was 8 years and 274 chapters ago.

That's still more than 20 years into serialisation, but I think that's a symptom of Oda taking way too long with Lore Piece revelations. 1180 chapters in and we still know fuck all about the Ancient Kingdom.

Oda's post-skip pacing has been pretty shit to be kind, and it's annoying how he introduces concepts like Haki, black blades and DF weapons, etc. but refrains from expounding because he wants to preserve novelty for characters he puts on a pedestal.

I'm just enjoying the hype of finally getting payoffs for mysteries we've been waiting on for decades now. It's making me very nostalgic for the days they felt fresh.

Imu is filling a lot of lore gaps, if nothing else.

The black blade one feels like a trick only because there was a similar hint when Imu pulled out the trident while in Gunko’s body

Could be wrong. If it really is a black blade then it’s likely something that Imu pulled out of his ass like Sonic

What is it called again? Hammer space? He probably has an ability that lets him store things and he just has it
If he has a blackblade as a side arm i dont think temple will survive this i didnt even think about that :josad: Your mind is more vile than mines

One Piece fans were always pretentious/annoying but that gimmick doesn't work anymore now that One Piece has been pretty dogshit for a 10+ year period.

When I see One Piece fans with the same gimmick they used to run back in the day I cringe.

Honestly, the comparison between Kaguya and Imu makes no sense. But comparison between Madara(real) and Imu is exactly what suit more. With the difference between those in their achievements. Madara dreamed of conquering the world and putting it into Genjutsu. Imu already took over the world and is now dreaming about getting married, and probably plans to make Vivi immortal like him.
It's not that there isn't overlap between Madara and Imu, it's that the overlap feels more obvious with Kaguya, given their appearance, ancient origins, deification and world origin consequence.

Live reaction of OP fans after they saw your post

Sentiments Oda himself confirmed in an interview? I'm not sitting there finding numbers, it's just one of those things that wasn't exactly a secret. The numbers will probably back the sentiment.

I chatgptd it, this is the most effort you're getting out of me.
Kudos for the tolling lol. In case you forgot your own words

Not even close per volume
which you can’t back up with data now and disregard it all as a lack of effort to look for it lol.

The reality is that Naruto used to be more popular in the states, so you probably took that local sentiment + that outdated statement from Oda and grossly exaggerated to say their per volumes aren’t even close, when in fact there is no reliable data for this and the nebulous unreliable data even points it to being comparable at the very least.

No I was one of the dudes constantly laughing at Narutards.

I don't have any affiliation to a single japanese man drawing a cartoon. One Piece was better than Naruto back then, so the glaze was somewhat warranted. Now that One Piss has had a decade+ (and counting) run of being garbo, it's time to make fun of One Piss fans who act like this series is all that.

Chatgpt confirmed the sentiment I got from Oda himself. Where's your evidence?

I also think Teach will eventually take the stage as the last villain, but the issue kind of remains. Imu is clearly going to be the second to last villain in the series, or like...maybe third, but you get my idea. He´s in the top 5 most important characters from now on, probably top 3.

....and he just doesn´t have a character? Like you can believe whatever you want about Sakazuki´s effectiveness as a villain and role going forward, but we´re introduced to him:
1. In a flashback shooting down a refugee ship
2. in the present time, killing a marine for trying to flee from the war

That shit made people so mad, you probably have someone arguing about the ethics of it on reddit or youtube comments or some shit as we speak. It´s strong characterization, you can easily imagine the kind of guy he is.

Idk wtf Imcel´s deal is. He was telling Warcury to not be idle and delusional about his power, but that seems to be all he does. He pulls up to God Valley, and just kind of fucks off 5 mins later. The fact that Oda left Garling to kill Rocks, actually makes him more hated by the community at the moment.... I think? Does anyone really *hate* Imu atm?
