He might catch more mistakes but no, he's generally not interested in telling a comprehensive story. Just getting from cool moment to cool moment.
Do you think that's also a consequence of the weekly format for 20+ years, and so he just stopped giving af?

His flashbacks are still pretty decent because there's a beginning middle and end to it, all pre planned.

@soupongo @Monster Zoro's Tesla Supplier @Paperchampion23 One really bad thing about the Elbaf arc that nobody talks about is how badly Bonney got sidelined. Given her backstory and the fact that she literally has a Nika transformation, her not being involved in the fight against Imu and the HKs feels really bizarre. I guess it’s not too late for her to suddenly get involved, but tbh I just don’t see it happening with how little screen time Oda has given her this arc.

Same goes for Kuma, but at least you can use the excuse that he’s undergoing repairs offscreen
bonney having the nika form never made sense anyway

I will never forgive Oda

Stopped caring about the minutia. Look back at earlier arcs that objectively matter less to the story like Alabasta, Water-7, etc. There's a lot of detail and ground work to make the arcs believable and set up the stakes

We've seen 1 fucking branch of Elbaph the entire arc and the biggest stakes we've got are whether or not books are burned

It’s the Wano Carrot treatment all over again. I’m not even a fan of Carrot, but her abruptly getting sidelined in Wano and having Neko take out Perospero instead of her has gotta be a sleeper pick for one of Oda’s most bizarre writing decisions in Wano
Idk, I just don't think Oda knows how to get meaningful emotional pay offs from his story anymore. Even Pre skip, it was 60/40 on flashbacks and current shit but now it's 90/10 and even the flashback shit doesn't resonate.

Mihawk being imus child makes sense.

The eyes

Mihawk being based off of Dracula whom was vlad the empaler whom is the son of vlad the dragon or when modernized vlad the devil.

Even in Christian teachings the dragons were FALLEN angels which even goes back to lucifer or Halel (when lucifers name is translated from Hebrew directly to English instead of Hebrew to Greek and then English).

Ohhhhhh now it even makes sense why the new pacifistas are called the seraphim. Since the seraphim are angels below the "ANOINTED CHERUBIM" (which is luficer).

This also adds why the Lunarians were considered gods (angels) which adds to the theory that imu is indeed a special lunarian.

And lastly in the games mihawk literally has an attack called "MU"

Satan was also called the great SERPENT and the DRAGON

@soupongo @Paperchampion23 This is roughly how I see Elbaf playing out atp.

Brook will Talk no Jutsu Gunko into breaking her pact with Imu.

Loki 1v1’s Imu for a bit before losing, and then Luffy takes over. Luffy eventually loses too, and then Gunko saves him. Gunko stalls Imu long enough for both Loki and Luffy to recover for a roun 2 (Imu goes easy on her because she’s his replacement for Lili-chan).

Zoro and Sanji fight Omen Sommers and Killingham and unlock an ACoC powerup to beat them. I do like the theory that Franky and Jinbe will job to the Omen HKs to hype them up, but I wouldn’t give my hopes up. I don’t really see what else Franky and Jinbe can do in the arc though, so there really isn’t any reason to not feed them to the HKs.

Chopper will cure any future Domi Reversi victims that Imu makes, and Imcel will do the Enel face when he sees that.

Bumsopp will either give some dumb speech to motivate the giants to fight Imu, land some cheap shot on Imcel to distract him for 1 second, or somehow remove the summoning circle in order to banish Imu from Elbaf

Robin will be involved in that random subplot about finding where Biblio took the books, I guess.

Nami will be on firefighter duty, potentially along with Jinbe

It's done guys, plot is clear, 800 years ago joyboy got corrupted and the best swordsman of that time, Imu his BF has to kill him.....
Now we have the little shit goofy, whose Bf will kill him after imu is gone, even Naruto ended with Sasuke vs Naruto...:BigW:

Yea but wouldn't this be solved with a volume release, about 23ish chapters a year?

The fact that he wrote Alabasta means there's good writing somewhere in there.
