@Paperchampion23 @soupongo I know that some Nerona Mihawk followers like to bring up that characters like Zunesha, Caribou, etc don’t debunk the idea that Mihawk’s ringed eyes connect him to Imu because only Imu and Mihawk canonically have red ringed eyes, but are Mihawk’s eyes canonically even red anymore? Both the anime and OPLA depict his eyes as yellow. Sure you could dismiss the anime because that was all the way back in the late 90’s before OP became popular and they didn’t really care as much back then about fixing minor design errors, but imo it’s pretty telling that the OPLA made his eyes yellow. Oda was working so closely with the OPLA that he even took breaks from drawing the manga, yet he never bothered to have them change Mihawk’s eyes to their “canon” color of red, even though that’s allegedly supposed to be a connection between Mihawk and the FV? It would’ve been a very easy change to make, and iirc wasn’t there stories about Oda being unusually picky about certain details of the OPLA?

Imo, Oda probably just changed Mihawk’s canon eye color from red to yellow because of the anime.
