I disagree with some of these. But either way it’s clear that Luffy has constantly gotten stronger. He also seems to be ready to fight Imu seriously, which is something he hasn’t done for anyone in G5 yet.
G5 luffy always laughs when fighting. It's cope he wasn't serious against Kaido or Kizaru. And imu is >>> Kaido/Kizaru/Topman.

Luffy should get a massive boost for him to get decent feats.

Folks Im is on time limit so Luffy will not get complete fight , it is going to be very tough fight for him but i believe he will be able to hold Imu somehow because of the plot , he still needs to learn how to use his ACoC properly . Thats why Gaban will train him before he leaves Elbaf.

Doesn't make any sense
  1. Gaban can't kill immortals
  2. Luffy has way stronger ACoC than Gaban
  3. The arc is in the latter half already

Just letting you know my friend, Luffy can actually beat IMU and even as an admiral fan, I hate to admit, he could have beat Kizaru too. Being strong enough was never the issue, it's the time limit and lack of understanding of his powers.

Luffy can reach any level of AP he desires to seemingly no limit lol. Bajrang Gun is the highest he's reached so far and we know it can get bigger, because he himself can get bigger.

Luffy still doesn't even understand his own awakening yet. He still thinks his fruit is the rubber rubber fruit, but the true power of the awakening is the power/freedom of his imagination. That is why it's the most ridiculous power in the world.

His performance stems from him figuring this out. He doesn't need another major power up. G5 is aready that. He just needs to lock tf in and go wild.

I mean I am not denying it. Luffy can show much stronger attacks or maybe become as big as nidhogg itself. I am just saying if we go by past precedence, it doesn't look good for Luffy. Like if he shows same moves as he used in the past , it won't work outside of maybe BG.

Luffy is eating much more food so he can show super Gear 5 mode or something like that.

I'm not against G5 potential being infinite but Oda fucked up by having Luffy spam G5 all the time on Egghead for little result
Against Lucci : Okay he dominated Lucci and it ended with his ass getting sent flying so that's a W, but Lucci was back after a few minutes at most in-universe.
Against Kizaru : both looking relative, with Kizaru taking a nasty hit with WSG when Luffy reaches his limit but still end up getting back before Luffy without apparent damage and end up feeding him (so could've easily achieved him)
Against Gorosei : Spent several chapters twerking for Warcury, outperformed by Emeth

His best moment was turning both Saturn and Kizaru into pizzas and sending them flying, but Saturn was the jobber of Gorosei and Kizaru was basically mentally checked out at this point. And him BFRing Mars with the help of others.

If Luffy performs against Imu without explanation on why this version of G5 would be stronger (all the food he ate?), the writing simply wouldn't work. Luffy not being serious/trying while spamming his strongest mode that leave him as a sitting duck as a drawback simply doesn't compute story wise.

I hope so. I really think we're closer to the end of the story that some people expect to.

So,here in Elbaph i think there are two possibile endings:

-Imu gets defeated here, getting the World Government into chaos and sending the story into the final decisive battle for the treasure

-Imu wins or leaves early, but if he leaves early,he must do it with some "hype" around his character,so he should do something big that leaves some consequences. Like for example,as people theorized, taking a eye from Luffy,or kidnapping a Strawhat, etc.

Yeah, that's why I said his problem is not knowing what he's fully capable of.

All he's done is Gear 5 varients of moves he's done before tbh, which is fine for normal opponents, but won't be fine against IMU. He has to truly let go, but there's nobody present to tell him who Nika really was. It's crazy how he still hasn't been paying attention to the legend yet lol.

Agreed. Which will only happen because that's what he imagines is how it works. But really, he could have done that a long time ago lol.

For the most part, I actually think that his drawback is mostly self imposed.

Even the pizza scene , he sneaked on Kizaru from behind to catch him and even then Saturn came back in an instant.
