Not entirely wrong, but tbf, you do have to account that MF is pretty stacked with characters, and that just isn't Odas strength, which is why half the Marines/warlords don't do much significant in the arc.

Him surviving Sengoku was simply Sengoku being a bum and then Sengoku quits his duties mid war, giving his soldiers a concession speech. This somehow went under the radar. Sengoku admitted defeat.
I mean sure Sengoku is still a top tier if we ever see him do something today, but relative to the rest of the cast his showing was given no respect.
