The Puppetmaster made Waterbending the clear best bending style. Bloodbending speaks for itself, but being able to pull water out of plants and the humidity also gave waterbending a massive buff. Its biggest weakness before was that it was very dependent on the environment, but this made it possible for waterbending to be viable in pretty much anywhere but a desert

Its hard to say which is best element to bend. Blood bending is the strongest for sure but less than 1% of water benders can do it.

1. Blood
2. Combustion
3. Air
4. Lightning
5. Metal
6. Earth
7. Fire
8. Water

Lava bending is hard to rank.

Lava bending is just the "deadliest" as in sheer destruction. So I would put it where Lightning is.

Bloodbending is powerful BUT extremely gimmicky.
Unless you're Yakone or his sons, you could only bloodbend during a full moon, which is the period when waterbending as a whole is the strongest.

bloodbending can be resisted depending on the power of the bender. So a full moon blood bender vs a comet fire bender could still be either way. for instance.
People tend to rank it blindly and forgetting these conditionals.

My first thought was that the sfx refer to Yoru, not necessarily Mihawk, but she doesn't appear to have Yoru so maybe it really is her lineage?

Which would make Mihawk the kid brother of a non-aging old lady! Weird.

This is the kind of shit I would completely ignore if it was any other mangaka, but oda is a completely crazy person, one of the only people i'm aware of that's anywhere near as nuts as I am. So I think this is probably going to end up being important.

If Mihawk was taken in as a kid to be raised as a God's Knight, it's possible either Candel or Gunko taught him sword play.

If this is the case, we have a legitimate line between Brook and Mihawk, when it comes to learning sword play, which I think would be really cool, though obviously sad.

What if Mihawk's Island is his home island that had a human hunt on it, but Mihawk survived and was recruited by the Celestial Dragons for being so hard to kill?
