The thing I don't get is why the King was also turned. Shuri alone to kill him makes sense, but what happened if he killed her? Would he be adopted as a CD?
Imu also tried to turn both goofy and loki and make them fight each other

Seems imu and wg are also in favor of BBs strat of making people fight each other and then taking in the ones who survive

Well, Loki versus Luffy makes sense as he can finish off who was left. But, pragmatically, Shuri had a much longer lifespan to go then her dad. Figured I'd just off him and collect my new recruit.

I'm both waiting for Shuri to put pants on, and to see her perspective of Marijoa.

I've thought it's possible that Shuri has actually been conscious this entire time, and Gunko is now a legitimate split personality.

Cavendish and Hakuba hours.
On that note, I've been thinking about Imu's abiltiies and kinda noticed something......pretty obvious in hindsight? He doesn't have mind control/memory manipulation/brainwashing powers. Not exactly. He has shown no ability to read his servants thoughts or directly change them in any way (unlike, say, Pudding. Who can just shove her whole arm into someone's brain and fiddle around with it however she likes. 😅). His life would probably be more convenient if he could. Lol.

All Imu does is give orders, and......thats it. The person in question either obeys willingly, or things start getting wacky. But not because Imu is directly controlling their thoughts, but instead because they start changing to be someone who WOULD obey. All of them do this, even the Domi Reversi demons. They start rationalising it, finding reasons that make sense to THEM to do what Imu wants, without even seeming to realise how different they actually are for the most part. We've seen a couple moments of lucidity (usually after taking a bunch of damage), but the only person who has shown to have any real control over their own mind after fully losing the fight for control was Rocks. And even that was just in the form of crying as he did what he was ordered anyway.

And Harald went down a slower change, where he was given an order, refused, his body started moving in its own but his mind was still in control and he was trying to order his guards to chain him up. But that would stop him from fulfilling his orders, so his body moved and killed the guard/s who tried. And as time passed his mind started to change so that he was someone more willing to obey without having to be forced (which I would actually like a lot more for Imu's powers than "everyone is being brainwashed without exception". It would basically mean that if you obeyed then nothing about you would change, because there would be no reason for it. ).

ANYWAY, whole lot of rambling to say......what if "Gunko" exists because "Shuri" was just incapable of reconciling her orders/what she was forced to do, so her mind (in order to fall in line with the orders she was given] HAD to forget anything unnecessary, and so she became Gunko. And yeah, at this point it would be more of a Hakuba/Cavendish thing, but in reverse I guess. If that's how it works, at least.
