It goes back to Oda's biggest fail not being what Oda does with the power but how he goes about doing it. Like not having any development whatsoever for awakening and just using it as a way to wrap up the fight

Yep. Oda's powers are fun, how they are developed is mindless nonsense.

I like Wano way more than most, and even though Nika was foreshadowed in Skypiea, it was such a phenomenal asspull.

And the funniest shit?

That asspull existed PURELY because Oda is so scared of people making correct theories, he drip feeds us info, because he's more concerned about people coming to the correct conclusions than whether or not the reveals actually make sense through legitimate plot pacing.

"The Ancient Kingdom and Void Century are right behind the curtain! You wanna look? Go eat bricks!" mentality is one of the biggest reasons a lot of long time fans are fed up, IMO.

If Oda WASN'T scared of audience theories due to pride or whatever the fuck, it wouldn't have been a bad reveal.

Fish-Man Island, Dressrosa, even Whole Cake with Big Mom wanting to make a utopia. There were soooooooo many chances to build an actual narrative here.

If Nika had been sensibly foreshadowed in arcs in the New World leading up to Wano, there would have been so much less criticism.
