This chapter confirms he was holding back against Kizaru, he was intentionally barely using Haki and never fighting seriously because he didn't wanna accidentally kill Kizaru. It obviously makes sense because Luffy's always known for being able to read people straight away, like he literally just did with Loki in this arc.

He had read Kizaru from the beginning and was holding back throughout. Never was fighting for real, like he will against Imu.

So there was nothing about imu or the gorosei that was vital and important in the flashback. Nothing that justified cutting away from the imu vs Loki fight at all.

The flashback woulda fit perfectly when Brook confronted Gunko and she broke imu's control earlier.

There was no reason to cut away from an exciting fight(by op standards). Oda is just doing whatever he wants while the editors just stand there and wank him

Luffy not using Haki or ACoC on EH never made sense.
Oda already explain that even if it lazy.
Luffy has or had to learn to use haki better which is something that comes will all forms of haki .
I don't like haki that much but that was something that build in since the start.

Not to mention it makes zero sense for him to actively avoid winning a fight with haki....if he could have won the fight with haki.

Imu isn't 10 times stronger than the Gorosei, and bleeding doesn't mean anything. Jozu can make Kuzan bleed, even Saturn was bleeding to Kuma's attacks.

at best, Luffy could have maybe beaten Saturn in a fight, nothing more.

I wouldn't say that, valuable info that relates to Loki in my opinion and a little about Imu's current damage that he took from Loki.. It reinforced the thought that the Gorosei do not have devil fruits, their mythical creatures are made of Maki and are given to them by their contract with Imu, the Holy Knights as well..
