A *healthy* Luffy in his strongest form couldn't land a hit on Imu, got his gigantic COC punch easily blocked by Imu's palm and was already running away and got called out for being too weak. What is he going to do while wounded?
I guess the fight might continue if Luffy's fruit saves his ass by granting him another PU out of nowhere, but otherwise he's done for the time being.

I'd imagine he can either:
Stall until some sort of plot device shows up(Holy Roppo dying, idk, maybe someone stops the summoning circle?)
Just stall until the Strawhats can start running away(which seems pretty dumb)

The only alternative I can see is that maybe Imu just decides to leave, or I guess some new character shows up, like Blackbeard, Dragon or Shanks or whatever

Luffy's definitely not going to be able to do anything major to Imu, it's pretty much canon that Rocks and Roger knew they couldn't even really try fighting him in an actual fight,which is optimistically about where Luffy is at....maybe a little above at best

I'm not even delusional enough to expect a blood bath, but the fact is....characters have actually died in One Piece every now and then, and the final villain should definitely join the team.

There's pretty much no reason Imu can't just kill Gaban, like, cmon

By feats there's only one God Tier currently, and he is Imu. The rest is just way below, including Loki.
