I think if anyone opens up a portal to Hell, it will be Blackbeard, by accident, or underestimating what will come out. Maybe when he tries to access Davy Jones' Locker?

I was waiting to see how Imu reacted to Luffy/talked about Joy Boy, and, while I COULD see the Demon possessing Imu as the final villain, Nerona Imu themselves clearly seems to be being manipulated.
At times, Imu talks A LOT like Harald did when he was possessed.
I think One Piece will be closer to the Eclipse in Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, or the Eclipse in Bleach, though. Real tragedy. Maybe not worldwide, but large scale.
IMO the Demon possessing Imu DETESTS hell and manipulated Imu to escape it, but wants to keep Hell (I think it's going to be "Tartarus" in One Piece, because of the shield thing) closed so other Demons don't fuck up their plans/vision.
Also, I keep thinking back to Imu's line about there not being a difference between a God and a Devil.
My ideal Final Villain would be Doffy fused with a Super Demon.
1st World was a war between Gods and Devils, with weaker species in between. The Gods and Devils mostly kill each other off, surviving species hide in the earth/bunkers to survive. Eventually, the start rebuilding once the climate settles.
2nd World was the remnants of other species using the DNA from the Gods and Devils corpses to make Devil Fruits. Eventually, they produce an artificial lifeform capable of producing Devil Fruits themselves. This is Nerona Imu, whose power is Devil Fruit. Joy Boy befriends Imu and treats Imu like a normal individual, despite their status as the Ancient Kingdom's most powerful warrior slave. Imu grows to like Joy Boy, and his friends, and falls in love with Lili. Imu, seeking freedom as they were made as an artificial lifeform, a warrior slave, finds a way to connect to the realm of the Devils, and is possessed. This Devil manipulates the Ancient Kingdom and 20 Kings into destroying each other so they can rebuild the world in their image while possessing Imu.
3rd World is a giant furry orgy the Gods and Devils re-emerging to finish the war that started in the 1st World.
