Shanks bros got humbled with introduction of xebec as swordsman
And the recent chapter didn't help their "Godking" delusions, with even Shanks outright saying how impossible it is to just simply remove Imu (you know the guy who is ACTUALLY a King, and at least considers himself something vaguely similar to a god?). Lol. Take away Shanks fans ability to cope about him being Top 1 by a mile, and they're fine.

Shanks knew it was impossible to defeat Imu without Buggy's Awakening

@MarineHQ @Elder Lee Hung @Kurozumi Wiwi @Sentinel I have a question for you Admiral fans

Why would you say that the general perception of Shanks among Admiral fans has become a lot more positive and when did this shift happen?

“More positive” might be saying too much since I’m aware that the general sentiment on him is still pretty negative there but it’s definitely gotten less negative.

It’s crazy cause during Wano and post Wano, Shanks used to be public enemy number one among Admiral fans and his fanbase was (rightfully) treated like a delusional cult. He was the most hated and clowned on Yonko (excluding Meme because she’s eternally hated by everyone)

But 3-4 years later, I’d say guys like Kaido and Luffy have become a lot more slandered and hated by the Admiral fandom while the Shanks slander has considerably reduced. Even guys like Blackbeard and Mihawk (who used to be well supported within the Admiral fandom) have started catching a lot more heat by the Admiral guys, even more than Shanks.

It’s kinda counterintuitive because Shanks has gotten the most impressive feats among these guys since then yet he’s the only one who’s image has improved.

It’s not just worstgen but on twitter, reddit, discord and fanverse too. This trend has followed

What’s the reason for this? Shanks fanbase became more bearable (because they got erased post Rocks flashback)? You guys just started liking him more? Or did the other fanbases just considerably worsen?
Because shanks became significantly less of a Gary Stu this arc while Kaido fans are clinging onto past glory so hard they’ve become memes

Honestly I think a lot of them just know that Shanks is too hard to argue against for now.

Not only is he Oda's princess, but his power level is extremely nebulous considering that we don't have context for his fight with Loki yet and he's only mostly had the chance to aurafarm otherwise.

(Except against Kid who imho most other high end top tiers could also have rekt if they took same approach in that scenario).

Plus most of his showings against Admirals are either non-canon(Film Red) or inconclusive (Ryokugyu/Akainu) or both(Film Red again).

So there's just not so much to argue about.

Meanwhile with Kaido he gets direct comparisons with G5 who also fought Kizaru, and the result is that there are a LOT of delulu scalies trying to make Kaido look more impressive.

Like the "1v18" cope, or people saying Kaido would've tanked WSG (he got knocked flat on his ass by a similar attack), or downplaying Kizaru based on an arc where he was at his worst etc.

And to top it all off this shit is going on TWO ARCS after Wano, which makes it all the more annoying to boot.

Also idk about other platforms but before WG my main experience was on Reddit, and a major thing I noticed on r/onepiecepowerscaling since 2023 was the obsession with hyping Kaido and downplaying/seething about Admirals and their fans.

Like I remember some nasty ass Shanksbros, but the Kaidophiles on there were the worst by far, they were as numerous, stupid, smug and unfunny. It was like being in the average political sub except with One Piece characters instead.

Lol I remember that the consensus opinion in r/OPPS was that Luffy mid diffed Kizaru after WSG (despite him pulling out his 2nd strongest attack to date, gassing out right after and getting negged in G4). Kaidophiles ran very rampant there lol they had the community in a chokehold. I don't surf there at all anymore but I really hope that Kaido wank has finally reduced after Elbaf. Mfs had him comfortably above Rogerbeard lol

I go there from time to time out of curiosity and it's still ass.

As usual some sane people are there but most are the same self-assured morons who have horrible takes.

Hell recently someone posted a thread from there to claim Loki was "Yonko level" LOL.

It sucks because pre-LvK OPPS was pretty damn good, the best OP sub in some ways. Lots of funny agenda memes like Urougenda, Enel glaze etc and most people were reasonable with only some loonies like Old Bread and Shira Astrea.

But it fell off super hard post-2023 like I said, sucks but it is what it is.
