At EoS the Marine will be a positive force leads by new gen like Koby and the other good guys, but atm the clash is inevitable.
Ryokugyu is a dude who loves women, doesn't eat food and is racist -> a flaming shoe in the mouth is really probable imho.
:sanmoji::araboss:
It's not impossible, because there are still reasons for why Luffy v Akainu should happen, but atp I would bet on them switching. It really only depends on Akainu and we barely know anything about his character yet.

- Kuzan switched
- Fuji is obvious (directly opposed the WG several times)
- Kizaru has a personal reason to despise the WG now and question his loyalty

Everything depends on Akainu. There is likely a reason why Oda gave several Akainu reaction shots during VP's broadcast...
And Ryo looks up to him. Let's not forget that Oda teased in an sbs that both new Admirals might run on an anti WG agenda.

Generally Oda been spamming since the end of Wano that the Navy isn't the real enemy, at the same time we were introduced to a group of actual demons controlling them.

As I said, in the end the Marine will switch side, but only after a clash with the good guys.
I can see this happening pretty soon with them defending Maryjoyce and the CDs from the pirates.

This is why I think Akainu will be the villain of the next arc, right before Luffy becomes PK. There's not really a clear role for him as an antagonist in the Soyboy/Imcel stuff, but he can still act as an oppositional figure to Luffy's piracy ambitions.

Also, there's not really a better opponent for Luffy to face before Laughtale. Teach is probably being saved for the final war as well because of the prophecy BS,and the Gorosei aren't really interesting enough to carry an entire arc.

I wouldn't complain if that happened. Way better than Akainu being fight nr 17 during the final war like these two ninja bums during Wano.

There’s undoubtedly a schism happening between the Marines and World Government as we know it.

It can’t be understated Imu’s existence is a fundamental betrayal of what gives the WG its legitimacy. Akainu is not bending the knee to Imu, he’ll die before dishonouring himself.

Blackbeard is still the biggest wild card in the story. I think we’re well into first act of the Final Saga, so I expect him to be extremely consequential in the near future. We will learn what he knows and how he saw Rocks.

I’m also one of those that believe Imu is dying to BB in the near future.
