It simply is true. Laws introduction was him taking over sanjis specific mr prince role.

Any moment worthy of a mr prince moment went to law. Any strategy, secret tactic, pivotal decision, and fast reaction saves, went to law.

It started on punk hazard and ended in wano.
It simply isn't true unless you're fixating on the lack of fights, which sucked, but aside from that Sanji was still integral to the plot.

There is nothing Mr Prince like about Law. Mr Prince was about out of sight subterfuge and sabotage. Law outright declared his intention to Doflamingo on Punk Hazard.

Law was the architect of the Emperor Saga. There wouldn't be an Emperor Saga as we know it without Sanji saving Kin'emon on Punk Hazard, winning over Viola on Dressrosa, and then saving the Mokomo Dukedom.

Sanji getting a whole arc for character development that was unpopular across the entire fandom... for a payoff that was the complete opposite of what sanji was known for. Germa genetics? He was known as the 0 magic power pure martial artist who got stronger through sheer physicality. Not magic swords or devil fruits.
In what world was Whole Cake Island unpopular? People went nuts for Luffy fighting Cracker and Katakuri, Snakeman, Future Sight, Brook's infiltration mission, Sanji's true origins, Jinbe's confrontation with Big Mom, and payoff for Thriller Bark and setup for Elbaph.

Germa genetics wasn't the payoff. In fact, the payoff isn't even complete yet.

Sanji was a physical monster as a completely ordinary human and he would've become enormously powerful like Garp without it.

The Germa upgrades make it so his physical abilities will far surpass what the strongest humans are capable of. The Lineage Factor manipulation in genes means his potential is virtually limitless, which is why his durability feats are so fucking insane he can give S-Shark a freebie with FISHMAN KARATE that does INTERNAL damage, shrug off kicks from Kizaru, bites from Nusjuro and a fucking Haki nuke from Imu.

Just to get sidelined in a nation arc about starving children, when his entire backstory is him dying from starvation and then becoming a chef.
Did you miss him feeding people in Wano? Also Wano was messy fuck in general and he still got a ton of out that arc, so idk what you're complaining about, considering it followed WCI.

Then oda keeps him away from the main villain and wants killer.
Rooftop Piece in a 2026 from a Sanji fan, come the fuck on, dude.

Sanji wasn't on the rooftop because he wasn't a Supernova.

He wasn't a Supernova because the WG didn't know who his name until post Ennies Lobbies, or WHAT HE LOOKED LIKE until post-skip.

The WG didn't know this about Sanji because Oda intended for him to remain in the shadows to preserve his own storyline.

I think your writing complaints are based on preference, not on the actual writing.

There are plenty of things I dislike about Oda's decisions, but that doesn't make it dogshit. It's just writing I don't like.

Not gonna say I really like Sanji.

I do like this chapter for him though. Maybe I'll like him more by the end of this arc.

Id suggest not strawmanning the positions ive laid out. None of my complaints are centered around fighting and your reframe attempts are pathetic.

You say there is no mr prince moments but then go on to say that law was the architect of the emporer Saga.

Mr prince moments are not limited solely to infiltration, and background work. This is nonsense.

Its undeniable that sanjis role is the tactician/strategist as explained in his vivre card. This was taken by law overwhelmingly. You cant be the architect without strategizing😂😂😂

Your critique doesnt even make sense. You contradicted yourself. It sounded nice but didnt actually make sense. Try again.

Sanji finding kinemon does not refute my argument. Him saving kinemon is busy work whilst law is hogging his spotlight.

Dressrosa definitely dragged for many. Longest arc in the series as well. Yet sanji was playing lover boy with viola and had a minor role in getting the transition to the zou arc started. Amazing. Riveting. Totally not sidelined for law whos orchestrating, strategizing, and saving crew members the entire arc. Law even saves sanji who came in to save the crew and ship from doflamingo

Whole Cake having popular moments and characters has nothing to do with my critique of odas treatment towards sanji.

Nothing. Zilch. 0. Nada. Theres 0 correlation between the readers liking katakuri, and odas treatment of sanji. These are two seperate topics.

Germa genetics was a payoff in the storyline. Its done as far as we know. The exoskeleton is the pay off. Are you stupid?
Im confused as to how you could argue germa genes were not a pay off. It literally resulted in ifrit, and sanjis internal issues were solved.

Theres no bigger payoff than that.

You dont need to explain to me the benefits of the germa genes. I dont care about how they help him. Most sanji fans are not and never were fans of the germa genes route. I do understand how it works though. Your attempt to explain such a simple concept to me is pointless. My understanding of this story and its structure, far surpass anything your brain could potentially produce. It is superfluous in nature and already well understood. Redundant.

No i didnt miss the 2 second scene where sanji fed some randoms in wano.

Do you think a 2 second scene where he feeds people, is particularly satisfying to the average reader who understands sanjis back story?

No. Its not.

He got mad at the gifters for the starvation of children.

There was no other character in the story that is as fitting as sanji on that rooftop. His backstory is literally about starving children, and hes in a country of starving chidlren.

Im not upset sanji wasnt on the rooftop you retard. If you had more than 2 brain cells, youd be able to tell that I think the rooftop is irrelevant and the real issue is the thematic mismatch.

>characters backstory is actually starving to near death while your buddy eats his leg for you to survive starvation as a child

>go to nation of starving children

>kicks a few low tier henchmen around and serves some soup

>sidelined vs the main arc villain whos starving children

>killer the useless vagabond somehow fights the main villain starving children

>sanji fan points this out

>you say their opinion is bad

>I say blow me

Redundant and superfluous in nature. Oda chose to make Supernova parralels in wano. He could have chose to do something different.

Youre really bad at arguing. Some of my complaints are partly preference. Its also true even if based in preference.

It wasn't, gang.

This is a case of allowing the noise of talking points warp what actually happened.

What's fair is Sanji lacked fights for most of the post-skip, and I think Oda still has ground to make up there, but in terms of development and general plot relevance, Sanji has undeniably got more and more.
nice fanfic..

Are you implying Law and others are taking Sanjis roles from pre timeskip? Here’s the thing , Law is the one who Started The whole Yonko Plan , He has to be be tactical and strategic character because he created the plan in the first place. It may also be part of who Law is as a character.

Rooftop is a Supernova Thing , a way to introduce us to the next generation of Pirates. You don’t need the whole strawhats crew on the roof. Maybe 1 or 2 representatives at best.
Sanji played a major role in Wano country compared to his contemporaries. ( Supernova and Strawhats)

Better how? Lanji has taken L's every single arc, he got low diffed by Judge lmao.

Lanji gets one good chapter and his fans think now is the time to rewrite history.

nah pre-ts sanji was likeable and consistently an asset hes been a burden since the start of post-ts and has just been given powercreep after powercreep to stay relative with the current powerhouses. majority of conflict in the first half of post ts was due to sanji. fishman island, wci, bm, germa.... guy nearly got both luffy and nami killed & got stella merked

especially now with CoC there could have been a progression for him since kammabakka but even then this guy is on the same level as zoro who trained directly with lihawk meanwhile all sanji did was cook and run for 2 whole years and had CoA and CoO, then given infinite germa tech with hax + coc like what lol meanwhile Robin was with dragon and revs and still has zero haki control after 40 year, usopp is still useless & franky also hasnt had this much progression after finding VP homeland, tech and then meeting them in perso and having them alongside their crew for 2 arcs...

i dont mind sanji progressing but just make it believable and not simply for plot convenience purposes. oh the HK can only die/lose to ACoC lets just give it sanji for no other reason other than needing to beat them...

I don't think the characters were better. I think it was a smaller, more consistent story with a tighter focus on the core cast. A lot of the characterization was very enjoyable, but proportionately shallow. That worked well because it was a different time and we were all 15 years younger back when it ended

Sanji in particular usually had his gags stop short of embarrassing him and there was some novelty in say, having Khalifa beat his ass. I give Oda credit for pulling at those threads to the point of unraveling him. Meanwhile, fleshing out his perspective and giving him net positives so small that they create a good dramatic balance

don’t stop at god knights……
God Knights, Gorosei, IMU, The Admirals & Yonko require ACOC if your a non- devil fruit user without a weapon.

Beyond the fact that people will have their own opinions, I think it's a pretty bad take.

Pre TS Sanji had a lot more actually funny moments, and his simping was a lot more endearing in comparison. He also had his moments of being one of the bigger jackasses's of the crew which was always fun, but I don't think Oda has done anything with that in awhile, in fact in WCI, I think we kind of got the opposite. Though imo, this kind of applies to everyone

In general, I think the Germa stuff was pretty much a waste of time, while I always thought his og backstory was pretty endearing.

No. Not at all. He became worse in every way. Sanji used to be in my top 3 best strawhats, with Robin and Nami, but now, I have him at the top 3 worst strawhats, with Zoro and Ussop. I deeply hate how Oda, since Thriller Bark went into a insanely long run to destroy his character so much that he cannot be someone's favorite character and cannot defend him at all from slander. All that in +600 chapters since Thriller Bark, in that period he could have done way better wuth the character, but now, he has his final chance to truly start fixing the character completely, and give him many power-up he needs since he lacks in so many fields that the idea of him being equal to Zolo is completely false since ACoC+ACoA heavily counters all types of durability. Most of the fandom isn't buying Oda's sudden statement about Zoro and Sanji being equal and him startibg treating them as equals since Raid on Onigashima. And that simple because he was giving way more love and care to Zoro than to Sanji, and that Sanji receives way more humiliation and undermining from Oda than what Zoro gets. And that's for nearly 1k chapters. I still think WCI was not enough at all for Sanji. It only covered the missing half of his backstory. While he didn't get any combat upgrades or character improvements (Sanji before WCI is exactly the same after WCI) without fixing the issues that mafe tye majority of the one piece fandom despise him (even after WCI). In other words, Oda fumbled Sanji so bad, questioning his bias towards Zoro. And, Toei's insane bias against Sanji is just based of nearly 25 years of Oda bad treatment of Sanji's character (Not getting a furst bounty Post-alabasta, not being a part of the worst generation, not getting CoC and ACoC, and other power ups that suits him like the rest of the Six Powers). And most people are not buying the "Zoro and Sanji are equals" thing, which means Sanji us not marketable anymore, which is a murder of legacy. And WCI is a very bad arc for the nosebleed chef: Sanji's handcuffs are fake, the Zeff stuff doesn't matter, Sanji making the wedding cake makes him get arrested, Sanji spend the entire arc nerfed and held by Oda without any payoff, Sanji fails to save his captain, Sanji is horribly written in his conflict with Luffy and Nami after beating his captain (which was the nail in the coffin of Sanji as a likable/respected character), Sanji comes as a worse more hated character after, Sanji doesn't get his own fight(s) in the arc, Sanji's later power-up in Wano is a forced gift that makes Judge the winner in the emotional battle against Sora, Sanji is made weak and unconfident and incapable which is against everything about him pre-timeskip pre-thriller bark, but Oda, since the crew's shattering by Kuma, went into a generational run to ruin Sanji completely: sent to the LGBTQIA island, get no trainer, get forced to spend his time with 99 useless quests, get his gag (already the worst in the serie) amplified, gets humiliated and mischaracterized when Oda can (like Telling Jimbe to kill himself for what Arlong did to Nami or telling Nami in Punk Hazard to not save children and let them), Sanji Gets no Character arc. WCI was supposed to be the celebration of Sanji, it's supoosed to be the arc that saves Sanji's character after nearly a decade of regression, the year that started by being called the year of Sanji from Oda himself. As for Zoro, i don't need to talk a lot about him, I gave up on Sanji post-timeskip, but Zoro, I never liked him, he's an empty overrated irrelevant fanservice character with no good writing nor depth. And speaking of these two , Oda says Zero and Sanji are equals while Sanji have no long range attacks nor high DC attacks, and Zoro has them and more.

This is one is for you and all the Sanji critics, Do you guys ever sit down and realize
Thriller Bark came out 19 Years Ago, Fishman Island came out 16 years ago, Punk Hazzard was 14 Years Ago…………………Most of the issues you have with the character are over a decade old and at the very start of the timeskip. Why don’t you take some time to actually reflect When Was Truly The last Time Sanji’s Gag was an Issue? And was it 1 chapter? Was it for an arc? How long has it been?

Also Oda said Zoro and Sanji are Equals in 2025 Which is Post- Wano Arc Powerups. Egghead and Elbaf Zoro and Sanji have felt pretty Relative so the take is valid.
2 year timeskip training Sanji came back with basic Haki and Haki Knowledge that’s more than enough especially considering only 4 out of 10 Strawhats can use Haki right now.
