Barely anything happens in chapters anymore.

Sanji and Zoro’s powerups were teased 7 months ago and we still haven’t got there yet, what the actual hell?

I just want to know why is Oda stalling and what is he waiting for, why are we still in Elbaf?

Where are the power ups of the characters, where is Usopp’s moment? Where? What is going on, why is the pacing of the manga so slow, we literally had 30 chapters since the “final phase of Elbaf” started, yet we’re still far from any conclusion, Zoro and Sanji are still fighting, why isn’t Oda focusing on their fights first before turning his attention to Luffy vs Imu?

It's possible that Oda's waiting for some certain chapter-number to come up to do something important with. Oda does love goroawase number-puns. And every once in a while, there's a chapter that has just the PERFECT numbering to make a pun work in Japanese. So, maybe he's waiting for a certain number to drop some sort of lore-bombshell on us?

It also might be pacing designed to work more for the tankobon/collections? We do know that Oda does consider how each volume ends. Like insisting that Imu's reveal happen at the end of the latest volume, so he included more chapters in that volume specifically. So, Oda might be thinking in terms of 11-chapter increments, rather than chapter-by-chapter. It's..."writing for the trade", just in manga terms.

...But, yeah, chances are it's just because Oda's not always the best at pacing his fights?

Oda seems to really enjoy having several different fights happening all at the same time. That way he can cut back and forth between all of them to do different things every chapter. And on some level, I get that. It gives the manga more variety. And it gives all the characters something to do. On paper, it's not a terrible idea.

In practice, though? It does kind of make the pacing feel sluggish. At least reading week-to-week. Touching on so many different plotlines every few chapters means that no one plotline can really move forward very quickly. I do really personally prefer it when Oda focuses in on ONE fight for at least a few chapters, rather than cutting between 3 or 4 different fights all the time.

But, I'll admit, this is mostly a week-to-week reading problem. I have a feeling these fights feel a lot tighter and faster-paced for the people reading the collections/tankobons. Or at the very least, it helps not having to wait in between chapters and you don't have as much time to really linger on all of it.

So, I do think there are some reasons for feeling like this. But, it'd be interesting to get the opinion of someone who ONLY reads the volume collections. I have a feeling that they'd actually feel like this is actually a pretty breakneck pace, at least for One Piece. If only because we're getting so many little lore-drops in every chapter. A bunch of new information to absorb, outside of the fights. A lot is actually happening, it just feels like it's kind of stop-and-start for us, because we're reading this weekly.

Give the One Piece story board to any other author and it’ll finish in 700 chapters max

For all the waiting he made us endure, I hope Oda endures the most severe of illness and doesn’t get to enjoy his life

Gaban vs Imu was one of the best fights we had since Wano. First chapter of Loki vs Imu was good too but not on the same level.

There’s no progression in the fights, where are the powerups? Why is Luffy still being weak?

There is progression, Gaban just showed us that haki is more than enough to hurt Imu and that Imu wasn't some invincible god tier (which was already obvious). And Luffy simply doesn't need a power up to fight Imu.

I’m expecting something next chapter, Sanji CoC, or Zoro having better control of Haki or Usopp doing something or Luffy upgrading his CoC to Gaban’s level, just give me something.
