I think Elbaf Imu is supposed to be a preview of Imu's strenght, and if it is hinted he has other forms before leaving then the odds of Blackbeard killing him without Luffy having another fight in Marijoa are get pretty low
Imma be real, there was next to zero chance thst would happen from the start. Can you imagine Oda giving up the chance to have Luffy just bust down the door to the throne room and march up to Imu seated upon the Empty Throne? Nah, I don't believe Oda would throw away that particular set piece.

Some people theorizing Garling will betray Imu btw but they are forgetting that the pact rewrites their very minds into becoming obedient slaves of Imu.
I actually had a thought on that. You know how Imu hasn't really......shown any mind control powers? Like, at all? He has telepathy (or the Voice of All Things?), but he hasn't shown the ability to read the minds/memories of his subjects, no memory manipulation or anything (despite people thinking he MIGHT have done that to Gunko/Shuri, he has shown no sign he actually CAN do that) and he also hasn't shown the ability to control anyone's actions outside of the Covenants/Domi Reversi.........and Harald didn't start to change until AFTER he made it home to Elbaf, despite presumably having the Mark for weeks at that point (minimum; however long it took to sail from the Red Line to Elbaf).

I think the Covenant doesn't actually warp your mind unless you try and defy the orders Imu gives you. Harald refused to obey, and the first thing that happened was his body started to act without his own will to fulfil his orders. He continued to fight it and tried to give orders for people to stop him, and then what happened? His body started killing people who were getting in the way of him doing what Imu wanted. The intensity of what his body was doing against his will increased. He KEPT fighting it, and then and only then did his mind start to change. He started to rationalise his orders, to become the kind of person who WOULD obey those orders.

But only after fighting desperately to NOT do something he was told to. So I think that most of the CD's have never once actively disobeyed a direct order, so the Covenant wouldn't change them at all.

Well yeah the thought of disobeying will rewrite your mind. So he can’t even will it.

With all this prophecy stuff I genuinely can't see anyone but Luffy taking Imu down lol
At best I can see Blackbeard getting to finish him off and steal his fruit after Luffy is done with him

Luffy went from barely YC3 lvl to Yonko lvl within DR - Wano
Hajrudin's lvl up is not weird by OP standards
Just wait until you see Smoker and Koby again
It’s One Piece guys
Smoker downplayers are not ready. We already know him and Smoker will have a rematch (Luffy said he wanted to fight Smoker in his real body during PH) and he ain't getting negged

I doubt that just the thought of disobeying would be enough, but yeah. Lol. The idea of Garling betraying Imu directly is kinda silly because of that. Its also why I think the people who believe Gunko is going to be an ally when she wakes up are being a tad naive. If he gives them an order, they HAVE to obey. Zero choice in the matter. They might be able to screw him over briefly if he's not paying attention to their actions, but the guy who has telepathy can always just go "Hey, cut that shit out!" and they will be forced to.....cut that shit out. 😅
