I wonder if Oda ever regret his Dressrosa portrayal of Hajrudin, I doubt he had Harald/Loki fleshed out at this point (especially based on Loki silhouette in WCI)
It's a consistent pattern with him, he made WB the strongest pirate, then made Roger his equal, then made a half-hearted attempt to have Kaido be the top one, then we have whatever the case is now with Rocks, Loki etc.

I feel like he lowkey wants to do the same constant power level increase thing as DBZ but accidentally capped his own verse with the system and lore he created lol.

Hence why he always plays it safe with top Marines for eg. Way more freedom to power them up later when he needs to.

This is interesting because Gaban called Imu a god in this chapter, could be like the Otsutsuki from Naruto? Like we for sure have aliens in this series lol. Enel went to the moon and there are furries living there.
Hmm, if the lunarians came from the moon originally maybe imu was their god? Or the leader of their race and brought them to the redline. Lunarians were originally considered god-like, so I'd go as far to say the strongest of them all is a god. Or a race much like the lunarians anyway hence no fire on his back

It's interesting he has the tribal-esque tattoos as well. Dragon and kalgara had them so maybe they signify royal families of some description or tribal leaders of the descendants of the original families. All being based of Imus of race if he isn't some deified lunarian.

Honestly, it opens up wayyy more questions than I can provide theories for lol

Flamboyant
Is this even unique to One Piece? Characters randomly getting Zenkai boosts isn't special i guess. Look at how Sakura literally knocked down Kaguya. Imu will still vastly outclass Hajrudin.
No, but there is levels to that and asside from a few outliers, Oda has been done still a respectable job so for a tong time imo, but now with how age and health issues have catched up to him and him wanting to wrap up things quickly (relative sparking), he isn't as reliable anymore...

Remember when back in water seven, Strawhats seemingly stood no chance against the CP9 only for a couple of chapters later to be capable of somewhat providing a challenge, even without their new power ups?

You know how Oda explained that?

"Hesistating makes us weak"
Which makes totally sense in a world where strength revolves more around willpower than anything and then he still provided them with Power ups, which he either outright teased at the sea train or revealed later down the line.

But against Imu, Hajrudin, a massive and slow giant without any ability to help him covering the ground quick enough, just manages to get there in time, the exact moment the plot required it to interfere and then a few panels later, Hajrudin Just endures 3 Omen bullets with is back turned and then pulls a Hakoku together with his brother, when at Dressrosa a simple G2 Pistol was enough to knock him Out, even just a few chapter before, a one of Imu's Omen explosions knocked him down.

Even with the Statement about the grandfleet growing stronger in mind, this feels like Oda needed to get from point a to b, without knowing to get there logically, or he simple screwed it in favor of his forced narrative.

Like Luffy had train his ass of for 2 years and ended up as top YC Material, but Hajrudin does a few push ups for what? 2 months since Dressrosa?, pulls a Freezer and performs better than even Zoro? :steef:
