But they could not be teammates day 1 because Unseen start as Assasin as Mastermind and can convert up to 3 members in total.

Ratchet was the original assasing. If they managed to convert someone night 1, that person is promoted to assasing. They have one cycle cooldown on conversion if succesful.

if shanks is really mastermind, he's showing up as town regardless so would make sense for town
and if shanks was town, he could be converted same night
