he know to use it at will, what he did not know is what it is which makes it basically not usable, when you dont know what something is you woud also not know that you already using this something. Zoro simply did not connect that KoH is acoc, which no one ever told him everyone just calls him stupid and no one actually tells him what acoc even is or what it feels like.

that simply him putting everything into his attacks, this is the mindset shift Zoro got in wano. that he does not have to worry anymore about holding back and now is putting everything into strong attacks again like he did pre timskip. with this mindset shift it also happend that when he gets serious and uses a strong attack he put everything into that attack which is also acoc. the problem is that its a weak and mindless use of acoc which makes it weaker
