Powers & Abilities What is this Disney ass “Sense of self” nonsense?

yawn.

i love when people use false narrative fallacies

No, this statement is false.

while enma played a massive role in forcing Zoro to learn how to consciously control and coat his blades in CoC later on, it was not the first catalyst for him unleashing it on panel.

the actual catalyst for Zoros CoC was Rooftop Piece:
Zoro first unconsciously unleashed CoC when he used his Ashura to scar Kaido. After the attack, Kaido explicitly states, "Don't tell me... you have Conqueror's too?!" At this moment, Zoro is completely clueless and tells Kaido he has no idea what he's talking about.

Where Enma Comes In: It isn't until later in his fight against King, that Enma acts as a catalyst. Enma forcefully drains Zoro's Haki at an aggressive rate, testing him. Zoro realizes that to stabilize the sword, he must stop fighting it and completely let his dormant Conqueror's Haki flow freely, knocking out Beast Pirate fodder around him and unlocking King of Hell style.

Zoro's own extreme, near-death fighting spirit and Ashura were the initial catalysts that bloomed his CoC on panel. Enma was the catalyst that forced him to master and coat it consciously.

please stop using non facts to push your headcanon.
There are no COC coating with Ashura in Roof Top because there are no lightning trails.

It can be argued Ashura at Roof Top isn't COC coating but just Zoro oozing COC in Ashura form just like how he is now as Luffy described him.

Oozing COC isn't same as coating COC.

Doffy and Luffy had a clash with COC but those attacks aren't coated either.

Also, make up your mind.
You disagree with me that Enma is a catalyst as I called it but then you confirmed it on the same post that it is indeed a catalyst.
???

Btw, Zoro didn't "consciously" coated his swords with COC in KOH vs King. He just poured out all his haki and coated his swords, this naturally forced his COC to coat his swords too. Which is why Zoro is trying to learn how to consciously coat his attacks vs Super Sommers in the past two chapters.

P.S. I really hope some fellow Zoro fans aren't too insecure about Enma. The sword is a part of him now, just like how Wado Ichimonji didn't break vs Mihawk. Having better swords do not diminish swordsmen, they make them stronger. Without Yoru, Mihawk is not the same Mihawk.

i didnt even read past your first sentence.... how/why do you think kaido was scarred and specifically kaido decided to point out Zoro also has CoC?

Zoro's COA + Basic COC

Zoro managed to scar Kaido permanently without even using AdvCOC.

This is based on the consitency of AdvCOC visuals where there is a clear lightning trail from the swords. Even the smoke-like aura from Zoro's COA which indicates stronger COA coating wasn't yet present.

Yes.

In the context of my post I was specifically talking about AdvCOC/COC Coating and not just basic COC.

My mistake is a typo that I only used "COC" instead of AdvCOC or COC Coating as Luffy coined it.

Your mistake is you hyperfocused on what supposedly a typo.

What? Enma didn’t have anything to do with Zoro using CoC
You are not good at reading context.

Makes sense why you are confused at the latest chapter.

You cannot objectively say Enma had nothing to do with that.
Enma was the first catalyst to Zoro using COC.
This is a manga on-panel fact.

Doesn't mean Enma gave Zoro COC, but it was a catalyst.

The point was Zoro was hesitant using his haki with Enma.
The moment Zoro stop hesitating he activated COC.

Did you even read that Zoro thought COC is just for captains and such?

This is a hesitation for him, he didn't view himself in their level, as a "king".

Sommers even mocked him not having the qualities of a "king".

What happens when Zoro puts on the bandana?

He becomes serious, more assertive, sure of himself.

This is what Mihawk means "one's sense of self".

Hence why he activated COC in that last panel.
you made this mistake quite a lot actually.....

just admit you were wrong its not that hard to do.

you even in this same post tried to sht talk imma

You highlighted what I was saying as the typo I did. That was supposed to be AdvCOC.

Other than that, what other mistakes did you see?

Not like you arent shit talking as well.

Maybe because Oden didn't have the same issues of self belief as Zoro.
So what? Enma has a specific power doesn’t it? Are you saying Enma changes what its powers are based on who is using it and based on their self esteem? Is that what Enma’s Creator said in the Zoro flashback? That swords care about the personalities of their users?

If Enma sucks up CoC then it sucks up CoC

also Zoro directly says that Oden is impressive because he could withstand Enma’s suck easier than he could… are you saying that Zoro is wrong and Enma didn’t even suck Oden at all? Because Enma chose to not use its powers on Oden?

who

Some of us been on the money what defines a Conqueror.
re Zoro and Sanji it's ability vs worth.

Zoro has always known his worth, but underestimated his own ability. He had to learn he was really like that.

Sanji believes in his ability, but he doesn't regard being good at things as making his life worthy of valuing.

Zoro had to confront misconceptions he had about himself.

What Sanji has to confront is the lack of value he places on his own life.

We know Oda is always trying to stay true to the idea of this story being written for 15 year old boys. As much as Sanji and Zoro are bad asses, they are still very young adults. Gaban and Rayleigh are very self assured and have a confidence that comes with maturity and experience. This "sense of self" is basically just the old guys telling the young guys how to manifest the best version of themselves and be self assured.

IDK, man. I was cockier in my youth. I find with age you understand that you had no reason to be so self-assured, and start wavering more as you see the scope of the world.

15 ? More like 8 to 12 max
I don t think many 15 years olds still like Tom&Jerry/Looney tunes

As I interprete this, knowing oneself is about understanding where the strenght and weaknesses of oneself come from and accepting said elements as part of oneself to become more than oneself.

In this case, I would interpretate that as Zoro needing to overcome the anxiety of strenght and grief and the paradox that Kuina's death created. How this liberation will arrive, I don't really know.
