There is no fucking way Oda dedicated an entire chapter to something that could have been resolved in two pages. How does the guy plan to finish the series with this much dragging things out?
It’s not even being done well enough to justify the time spent on it. And at the end of the year, in his holiday message, he ALWAYS says he wants to finish the series so he can rest, travel, and enjoy time with his family. But how? How can he want that when he spends three chapters with Zoro and Sanji doing nothing against their enemies, just spouting lines, making faces, and having shallow flashbacks?

So, the "right" way is to drag things out, pad the runtime, use near-repetitive panels and useless catchphrases just to manufacture "difficulty"? If he weren't afraid to put actual substance into the speech bubbles, he could probably condense a lot of it and IMPROVE the fight sequences.
