I used to joke about it, but as we're approaching chapter 1200 and nothing important has been unveiled aside from IMU's face, I am starting to think that the timeskip wasn't the midpoint of the story, but the end of its first third, with Wano/Nika representing the second third.

In other words, we're in for around 600 more chapters.

OP Act 1 - beginning to timeskip - 600 chapters
OP Act 2 - timeskip to end of Yonko Saga - 600 chapters
OP Act 3 - Nika Piece to epilogue - 600 chapters

Haki is super relevant now and Oda had to quickly bs his way into giving it to Zoro and Sanji asap

everyone unlocked / used CoC in desperate situations ( ace & doffy when they were kids , luffy etc ) Zoro and Sanji fought top tiers and were in desperate situations so many times they should've already shown signs of it long before even Wano, Oda just decided to do this too late and we have to deal with the fact that it doesn't make much sense but it's what we get and that's about it

Ehh Zoro unlocked it in a desperate situation against Kaido so his makes sense. Sanji we shall see what Killingham has to offer.
