Spoiler One Piece Chapter Spoiler 1196 Spoilers Discussion

Mate shanks has disdain for his celestial dragon lineage he’s not a masochistic chud

But even if he was, Gaban would know that because he RAISED HIM. How did he spot something so intimate and inexplicit in Sanji after just meeting him?
And Sanji has disdain for being Vinsmoke, only difference is that Shanks didn't have to be raised by his family or abused. If he had his self hate would be equal to or worse than Sanji's just by the fact he already hated himself for it.

The last time One Piece genuinely had any tension was when Saturn arrived on Egghead. But right after Kuma's flashback, Saturn got completely hammered by Kuma, and all that tension just vanished. Honestly, Saturn's fight against Luffy and everything else was pretty weak, and the series hasn't had any real tension since then.
Before Fluffy healed via niku he did suffer his worst defeat vs Imu

So Oda is setting up both a change in his combat style and aCoC?
Seems interesting. If that's the case he will start to neg Killingham aswell.

I want to see how badly injured and exhausted Sanji is. Cause if both Zoro and Sanji neg their HK matches, I'm starting to hope they will join the Imu fight.
I want to see their new all out feats: aCoC Asura and invisible speed + ACoC infused flames.
I recall you were in same camp as admiral fans mocking idea zoro would make return to fight imu :willight:

I have criticized One Piece plenty of times before, and yes this writing for Sanji is not the greatest in all of fiction.

But if this type of writing was in another series, some of these same people are downplaying it, would be calling it peak and praising the author, but because it's One Piece and some people have hate boner for the series, they think it sucks.

Then you have some of the ZBoys, if this type of writing was switched and Zoro went though this development as a character, they would be hyping up Zoro even more and then saying that Zoro is one of the best written characters in all of Shonen.
THIS IS TRASH. This is the equivalent of zoro not loving himself and becoming suicidal because of what kuina told him or how she treated him.

You hear how ASS that sounds?

Next chapter makes or breaks it imo. If Oda is smart and connects this to Baratie Sanji “chewing his own spear” and we get a small flashback moment with Zeff talking about the spear of grit and that help awaken Sanjis CoC then I think it’s great.

This whole thing makes no sense.
Sanji has self-hate or causes self-harm?
Oda couldn't even come up with an example showcasing that for the last 2 arcs. Not once in Egghead or Elbaf.

Ironically, the one thing that does show it, was in wano where he let's a woman punch him continuously for no reason. Yet Oda treats that type of "self-harm" as a good thing.
Exactly bro. I don't get it. Its just bad writing ruining this character for 0 reason

Mind you, if it was due to trauma from germa (I'd say Nico Robin life was more traumatic but okay) why isn't judge his worst fear? It's ivankov figuring it out instead.
What is this guy writing man.

Because this time he has no choice. He can’t save the kids and women without defeating Killingham. He can’t defeat Killingham without CoC. He can’t get CoC without actually dealing with himself.

This is the only time it was written as a necessity. Even if he died all those other times before, the people he saved would’ve been safe. But not this time.
